This scholarship is to provide recognition and financial assistance to outstanding students enrolled or planning to enroll in the African and African American Studies major in the College of the Liberal Arts.

Consideration for this scholarship will be given to all full time undergraduate students enrolled or planning to enroll in African and African American Studies who have achieved superior academic records or who manifest promise of outstanding success.
Students must have applied formally for admittance to the major.
Entering freshmen must have a predicted GPA of 2.75. Students must be registered as a full time undergraduate at University Park.
First preference is given to students who demonstrate interest to combine other disciplines with a major in African and African American Studies.
Preference is also given to students with demonstrated financial need.
Preference will be given to students who demonstrate a commitment to community service projects in an economically disadvantaged area in Pennsylvania during their undergraduate career.
Preference will also be given to students who are actively involved in campus organizations such as Gye'Nyame curriculum committee, Black Caucus, etc.

Each scholarship shall be awarded for one academic year and may be renewed for subsequent years providing the recipient continues to meet the conditions of eligibility and funds are available. Students are required to maintain at least a 2.75 GPA and continue full-time enrollment.
